Bhhaskar De is authorized to practice law in India. Bhhaskar has received extensive training in international business transactions. Bhhaskar is also a candidate for admission to the Bar in Canada (Ontario) and in the US (California). Bhhaskar has completed an LLM specializing in Entertainment and New Media Law from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Bhhaskar also completed the Television Producer’s Program from the UCLA, Los Angeles, California. Additionally, Bhhaskar has completed his MBA from Cardiff University, and J.D./LLB from Vidyasagar University, India.
Bhhaskar has over 16 years of experience as a business and legal affairs executive for companies like Reliance Industries Limited, Turner Group of Channels, Endemol Shine, ZEE TV and Krishnamurthy Tandon Foundation. Bhhaskar has extensive knowledge in entertainment matters including negotiating all types of entertainment-related contracts including development agreements, option agreements, format licenses, acquisition agreements, talent agreements, production agreements, distribution agreements, and co-production agreements between different entities. Additionally, Bhhaskar has worked extensively on acquiring international shows such as Voice, Voice Kids, So You Think You Can Dance, Who’s Asking, Real Housewives, Super Couple, Big Brother, Divided, Deal or No Deal, and Fear Factor. Bhhaskar chairs the Marketing and Communications Committee.
Bhhaskar is also a seasoned film and television producer, boasting an extensive understanding of the entertainment industry across North America, India, Africa, and the Middle East with a particular focus on areas such as copyright, trademark, talent representation in scripted television, business affairs for scripted & unscripted television, music, entertainment, and US writer on guild-related laws. Bhhaskar has experience in developing and packaging live-action TV, film, and animation projects involving diverse and cross-cultural stories, in connecting stories with funds and also in stitching multi-territory co-production deals. Additionally, Bhhaskar works with a few Indian companies that offer Hindi-language OTT series and films in North America, LATAM, Africa, and the Middle East.
