Blaine Turnacliff is a Canadian lawyer with 16 years experience living and working in Greater China. Blaine has a diverse corporate practice with experience representing publicly and privately held clients on a variety of trans-national business and investment matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, WFOEs, intellectual property, franchising, licensing, strategic planning, distribution and supply relationships and anti-counterfeiting activities. His clients range from start ups and entrepreneurs to multinationals and Fortune 500 companies; the common factor being that most are overseas-based with business interests or activities in China.


As an expatriate living in China, Blaine can appreciate the mystical quality the Chinese business environment presents to foreign business persons. A big part of his job is to assist his clients to understand and properly navigate the legal and bureaucratic hurdles that entrepreneurs and businesses face in China. He sees Jin Mao P.R.C. He has written or co-authored numerous articles on Chinese laws and investment issues that have been published in the China Law & Practice Journal, Nanotechnology Law & Business Journal, Shanghai Daily, Shanghai Business Review, Canadian China Business Council Quarterly, L.I.N.K Newsletter and Legal Studio.
