Honouring Community Champions at Surrey City Hall

On August 24, the Fil-Can Cultural Heritage Society hosted Honouring Our Community Champions at Surrey City Hall, a heartfelt event that celebrated resilience, compassion, and unity within the community.

The event was especially meaningful in light of the Lapu Lapu Block Party tragedy, which deeply affected the community. Yet, amidst the sorrow, remarkable individuals and organizations rose to demonstrate leadership, strength, and solidarity.

Anthony M.M. Remedios, Matthew B. Remedios, and Lorentz Sy were honoured to attend the ceremony, which recognized these extraordinary contributions.

This inspiring gathering was a reminder of the strength of community and the importance of coming together to support one another.
