Joanna joined Remedios and Company as articled student in March 2019. Her practice areas of focus are corporate/commercial law, securities law, real estate, family, immigration, wills and estates, and tax law. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as legal counsel in Beijing and Shanghai, China, with multinational companies for twelve years. She gained extensive experience in corporate/commercial law, employment law, litigation and arbitration in China.
Joanna earned three master degrees in law separately in China, the United States and Canada. She is proficient in written Chinese and spoken Mandarin, and is able to deliver legal services in both English and Chinese. She is an active volunteer in the community in China. She ever led a team of 15 lawyers to provide pro bono services to the community. She is also one of co-founders of Beijing Pro Bono Foundation which aims to promote and support the development of pro bono services in China. Now she is going to find opportunities to serve the local community in Canada. Outside of the office, Joanna enjoys practicing yoga and travelling with her family.
