Associate Lawyer
Joanna practices in business law, real estate, wills and estate, family law, immigration, and tax law, excluding litigations. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as legal counsel in a leading Fortune 500 company and a U.S. public company for more than ten years in China and she gained extensive experience in commercial/corporate law, compliance, employment law, litigation and arbitration.
Joanna obtained master’s degrees in law from the University of British Columbia in Canada, Temple University in the U.S. and Shanghai University of International Business and Economics in China. She is proficient in written and spoken Chinese and is able to deliver legal services in both English and Chinese. She is qualified to practice law in both Canada and China.
She is enthusiastic about volunteering. She ever led a team of 15 lawyers to provide pro bono services to the community in China. She is also one of the co-founders of the Beijing Pro Bono Foundation which aims to promote and support the development of pro bono activities in China.
Outside of the office, Joanna enjoys music, reading and travel.
