Associate Lawyer
Joanna Elliott BBA, LL.B. (Hons) has recently joined Remedios & Company as an Associate Counsel after articling with Gary Matson (her principal). Joanna is an international Law School graduate with a background in business and international law.
In pursuing her law degree in the United Kingdom, Joanna studied comprehensive EU, UK and other related areas of international law. While obtaining her law degree abroad, Joanna spent every Saturday volunteering at a local pro bono clinic, where she worked as a Welfare Rights and Benefits Advocate. During her summer breaks, Joanna maintained her passion for social causes by working for local NPOs and volunteering her time to UBC’s pro bono clinic, LSLAP.
Prior to pursuing a legal career, Joanna spent her time immersed in the start-up world. While earning her Bachelors of Business degree, Joanna started her own successful company, Benko Productions Inc. Joanna has also consulted for countless small businesses on marketing, advertising, contract negotiations, product launch and how to generally navigate the start-up world.
