External Consultant (non-practising)
Xiao-yu was born in Beijing and graduated from the Faculty of Law at Beijing University. She accepted a scholarship from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, to pursue graduate studies in law. Xiao-yu obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Queen’s University after completing her thesis on “Legal Protection of Foreign Investment in China.”
Xiao-yu subsequently obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Queen’s University and articled and practiced with the law firm, Ferguson Gifford, where she became experienced in civil litigation and corporate/commercial law. Xiao-yu is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and is concentrating on developing a solicitor’s practice to serve clients in the Asia-Pacific region. Xiao-yu is currently a non-practising lawyer.
